Anatomy of The Move

So what goes into moving a more than 200 household synagogue about one mile to its new home? All aspects of the move are being overseen by the Space Committee (a.k.a. SpaceComm).

The committee has delegated the various aspects of the move into different work groups:

Micah Sanctuary/Mikdash: Design and remodel of the Babbs Memorial Chapel into a Jewish, creative and sacred ritual space.

PHUMC Sanctuary: Design and plan ways to effectively make the PHUMC sanctuary a Jewish space when Micah uses it for High Holydays, B'nai Mitzvah and other larger attended services.

Office Space: Design and remodel of the classroom/meeting spaces that will be our offices spaces into welcoming and functional work spaces for our professional staff.

Signage: Determine and coordinate the placing of exterior and interior signage that effectively promotes our presence inside and outside the building.

Moving: Coordinating the move of Micah's belongings from PHCC to PHUMC.

PHUMC - Covenant/Brit: Working with members from the PHUMC community to express the terms of a spiritual covenant of partnership between the two communities.

PHCC: Coordinate and plan with Park Hill Congregational Church an appropriate and meaningful way to mark this important transition in the lives of both communities.
